Germany will take the European Cup from Spain

German football legend Lothar Matthaus, convinced that the German national team could win the European Cup trophy from Spain this year. Matthaus said the German coach, Joachim Loew, the reason for that belief.

"Joachim Loew has made the team become stronger after their defeat of Spain in the last 2012 World Cup. There is no doubt in my mind that they can seize the throne of the world and European championships, if they play with the potential that exists," he said as reported by ESPN Star.

At Euro 2008, Spain beat Germany in the final round with a score of 1-0 to a goal by Fernando Torres. The same thing repeated in the 2010 World Cup. Spain once again managed to lay off the pace of troop "Der Panzer" in the semi-finals after winning 1-0 with goals scored by Carles Puyol.

However, Matthaus remain confident in the qualities of the German national team at the moment. This, he continued, as evidenced by step "Der Panzer" past the qualifying round with a perfect record after successfully winning all matches in the group.
