Kuznetsova seek first title since 2010
Second seed and title-winning grand slam, Svetlana Kuznetsova (Russia) eyeing his first title since 2010, when the champion in San Diego. He appeared on the Grand Prix tennis tournament de SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem in Fes, Morocco, April 23 to 29.
During her professional tennis career, Kuznetsova has an impressive record on clay, including winning the French Open at Rolland Garros and Stuttgart in 2009.
Tournament total of 220 000 U.S. dollars (equivalent to USD 2.09 billion) it is the only tournament in the WTA calendar that goes on the African continent. In 2001, the tournament was held in Casablanca. Then, in 2005 moved to Rabat and since 2007 in Fes. City of Fes is Morocco's second largest city and a popular tourist destination. Tournament name Princess Lalla Meryem took the name of the sister of the King of Morocco Mohammed VI.
During 11 years of operation, there are 11 players who won the women's singles, among others, Marion Bartoli (France), Kuznetsova, Li Na (China), Dinara Safina (Russia), and Patty Schnyder (Switzerland). This year, there are two more former champions participating. They were champions in 2009 and 2008 runner-up Anabel Medina Garrigues (Spain) and defending champion Alberta Brianti (Italy).
