Tottenham Hotspur coach, Harry Redknapp, gaining strong support from the leadership ranks of the English Football Association (FA) to be the manager of the new British national team. Strong support was expressed by FA officials, Phil Gartside, in an interview with the BBC as reported Soccernet.

65-year-old coach has been a favorite since Fabio Capello's resignation in February. Gartside said Redknapp the right man to lead England in the 2012 European Cup.

In the interview, Gartside said that Redknapp would be a great England manager and he said Redknapp as a master motivator with the ambition to win.

Meanwhile, former England striker Gary Lineker, surprised by the attitude of the FA. European Cup is in sight but they have not set a coach who will lead England this summer.

"What's wrong with the FA? When will they decide to engage with prospective ataumungkin England manager Stuart Pearce or assigned to train the team for the European Cup? Someone should prepare immediately. The only reason I can think of, which of course I believe, is that they do not want to disrupt the work of a team, "he said.

According to Lineker, FA might think the Spurs do not want to disturb the concentration towards the end of the Premier League season. However, the player who ended his playing career at Nagoya Grampus Eight is considered that now or later, the consequences will be the same. In fact, the UK needs to prepare.

"They probably thought of everything and there is no match (for England) to the end of the season, training camp has been arranged, but the new coach took his team began to think and plan," he told BBC Radio Five Live.

"He needs to think and plan about how other teams play and train and stuff like tiu, now they began to lose time. If they want to appoint someone else, they should immediately do so," he said later.
